The Winter Texans are arriving in droves. Our Park has about 1,000 residence ( 500 park units ) and before Christmas there was less than 200 residence. By New years eve about half of the missing had arrived and the park becomes a beehive of activity. 

Many of the residence have planted native plants like cactus and 
alovera plants. During the summer and fall these plants have gone wild so they have to be pruned back so all there residences where cutting or hacking these plant back. Our neighbors about 10 very beautiful plants that had grown to 8 feet and when they finished hacking they had 21 bags of plant refuse. 

The on site maintenance workers are working overtime to pick up all the waste products. 

Saturday was a Hockey Day with the World Juniors in full swing and then there was 10 NHL games so nothing else was on the menu today. I won't call it a wasted day but with the cold, rainy, windy weather,  doesn't provide much initiative to do much else but to watch TV and to read a book.

Well it is the end of another year and our plans for New Years Eve is to do nothing exciting except to wait for the ball to drop in New York. If you are not at a party how else do you bring in the New Year. 

On Sunday morning we had the per verbally  breakfast with friends. However, 2 new couples from MB joined us so we now have 4 more friends to add to our list. Nobody had ever been to this particular restaurant before so we thought it might be an experience. But as we entered the place there were 2 tables of 12  Winter Texans eating breakfast so we knew it was cheap and it must be good. 4.49 for a full breakfast.

Other than watching hockey we watch the New years Eve parties on TV until it was 12 o,clock in Winnipeg ( we are on the same time ) and that was the end of 2017.  

Note: From now on I  will do a weekly blog summary and hopefully I will do it on Sundays.  Since the weather has changed for the better the continuous " Wining" will stop and besides we are running out of cheese that goes with the wine.    Cheers
